PRIVACY
Keep it simple. Keep it private.
This site is designed to collect as little personal information as possible and to use information only for the purpose you choose.
Payments
Card support is handled by Stripe through Stripe-hosted checkout. This website does not store your card number.
Verified Venmo and Zelle options are also available through public recipient information shown on the Support page. Always confirm the intended recipient inside Venmo or your bank before sending. Bank-account and routing numbers will never be published on the website.
Cookies, autofill, and your personal information
This site does not use cookies to collect your banking information.
Your phone, browser, email app, or payment provider may offer its normal autofill features. Those are controlled by your device or that service.
Join the Crew
If you choose to join the Crew, the only purpose is to send a short notice when John publishes a new story. No sales messages, unrelated promotions, or automatic enrollment into book updates.
When you submit the Crew form, the site stores the email address you entered, your consent to receive new-story notices, your signup status, and delivery records used to avoid duplicate notices. A successful signup sends a confirmation email.
Every Crew email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also use the Stop Crew Emails form on the Join the Crew page. Unsubscribing marks the address inactive for Crew notices.
Crew text-message notices are not active. A phone number is not requested by the Crew signup form.
Reader memories
If you send John a memory by email, you decide what to send. Private memories remain private unless you later give permission to share them.
If you choose to submit a memory for possible sharing, John reviews it before anything appears publicly. Nothing is posted automatically.
Future book interest
Book interest is separate from Join the Crew. Sending a future-book interest message does not subscribe you to new-story notices or anything else.
Private website analytics
If private site analytics are enabled, they will be used to understand general visits and page activity. They will not be shown as a public visitor counter.
