Simple terms.
The stories remain open to read. Support is optional. Communications are sent only when a reader asks for them.
Optional story support
Each support payment is a one-time amount and a separate charge. Nothing renews automatically.
Card checkout is handled by Stripe through verified Stripe-hosted payment links, so this website does not store card numbers.
Join the Crew
Joining the Crew is free. Its purpose is limited to a short notice when John publishes a new story. It is not a paid membership and does not enroll a reader into book updates, promotions, or other messages.
A successful Crew signup sends a confirmation email. Every Crew email includes an unsubscribe link, and the Join the Crew page also provides a Stop Crew Emails form.
Crew text-message notices are not active unless a separate consent-based SMS system is later connected and tested.
Reader memories
Sending John a memory does not automatically make it public. Memories submitted for possible Reader Memories sharing are reviewed before publication, and private messages remain private unless permission is given to share them.
Future book interest
Future book interest is not a preorder, reservation, purchase, or promise to buy. It simply lets John know a reader may want to hear if a future book becomes available.
Payment availability
Card support uses verified one-time Stripe-hosted checkout links for $5, $10, $20, and a customer-chosen amount. Venmo and Zelle are also available through the Support page. Readers should confirm the intended recipient inside Venmo or their bank before sending. No support option on this site is a recurring subscription.
