ABOUT
About John & the Project
Shaped by Wind, Tide, and Water is John Lewis’s true-life autobiographical story project.
The stories preserve firsthand experiences shaped by family, friendship, boats, schools, weather, wildlife, work, Florida’s Gulf Coast, the Great Lakes, and Canadian waters.
The project follows a nonnegotiable truth standard: no invented events, fabricated dialogue, composite people, or fictional filling of uncertain gaps. When a date, sequence, or detail is uncertain, that uncertainty is preserved.
Visual standard
Real photographs remain identified as real photographs. Memory-based illustrations created with AI assistance are clearly identified as illustrations and are based on John’s firsthand recollection. AI does not create the memories or stories.
